Tienda Louis Vuitton en Omotesando (Tokio) / Louis Vuitton shop in Omotesando (Tokio)

En conmemoración de la colaboración entre Vuitton y Murakami en 2003, la firma LV diseñó  la colección de primavera-verano 'Multicolor Spring Palette' en 2009, convirtiendo la tienda de Omotesando (Tokio) en el Murakamilandia. Y, como no, la secuela de 'Superflat Monogram' (de mi entrada anterior) promocionó la nueva colección. A continuación 'Superflat First Love':

In commemoration of the Vuitton-Murakami collaboration in 2003, the firm LV developed the 'Multicolor Spring Palette' spring-summer collection in 2009, turning the Omotesando shop in Tokio into Murakami land. And, of course, the sequel of  'Superflat Monogram' (on my last post) publicized the new collection. Bellow 'Superflat First Love':

Este es uno de los bolsos de la firma Louis Vuitton de la colección de primavera-verano 'Monogram Multicolore', resultado de la colaboración con el artista Takashi Murakami en 2003, siendo Marc Jacobs el director creativo de la marca.

Fruto de esta colaboración fue también la fabulosa campaña publicitaria que quiero mostraros hoy:

This is one of the Louis Vuitton's bags from the 'Monogram Multicolore' spring-summer collection, as result of cooperation with the artis  Takashi Murakami in 2003, being Marc Jacobs the creative director of the brand.

Blu

Blu no concede entrevistas, oculta su identidad detrás de una máscara y su nombre tras este particular seudónimo. El artista urbano italiano comenzó su andadura artística en 1999, realizando graffitis ilegales en su Bolonia natal. Hoy en día es invitado en distintas ciudades del mundo para realizar grandes murales con su peculiar estilo surrealista.

Blu don't grant interviews, he conceals his identity behind a mask and his name behind this peculiar pseudonym. The italian urban street artist opened his artistic path abroad in 1999, as he made illegal garffitis in Bologna, his home town. Nowadays he is invited in many cities from all over the world to develop huge murals in his peculiar surrealist style.

Punto de vista / Point of view

Parafraseando a Ramón de Campoamor, mi madre me decía:

Y es que dependiendo del punto de vista de cada uno, la mentira se hace verdad y la verdad ilusión.

So, depending on each one's  point of view, the lie become truth and the truth become an illusion.

París bajo el agua / Paris underwater

Por muy fijamente que miréis, aunque os frotéis los ojos, París sigue inundada como una Venecia francesa. Parece incluso que un gondolero cantando en francés, va a asomar por detrás de cualquier esquina.
It's no matter how you stare at, or rub your eyes, Paris is still flooded like a frech Venice. Even it is seem that a gondolier, singing in french, is going to poke out behind any corner.

Real vs. Virtual

El ilustrador sueco Johan Thörnqvist nos hace ver lo imposible en dos fases:

Primero tamiza la realidad, la diluye y la matiza.

Después añade lo virtual, que, lejos de parecer elementos ajenos a la realidad, se mueven como pez en el agua dentro de su nuevo entorno 'real'.
The swedish illustrator Johan Thörnqvist makes us see the impossible in two times:
Firstly, he sifts out the reality, he dilutes and tinges it.
Then, he adds the virtual, witch, far from seem foreign elements to reality, they are 'snug like a bug in a rug' into their new 'real' environment.

El Circo del Sol en la gala de los Oscars / Cirque du Soleil show for Oscars

Cualquier espectáculo del Circo del Sol transporta a sus espectadores a un plano distinto de existencia, una dimensión donde una línea muy delgada separa la magia de la física. Tanto es así que el espectador sale de la carpa con la sensación de que con un leve impulso podrá llegar a casa flotando por el cielo estrellado. No hacen falta 2 horas de espectáculo para conseguir esta sensación, con 3 minutos y medio fue suficiente en la reciente gala de los Oscar.

Any Cirque du Soleil Show conveys its audience to a different level of existence, a dimension where a very fine line separate magic from phisics. It's so much so that the viewer come out of the big top in the mood of being capable of getting home with a little boost to flow into the starry night. It's no necessary 2 hours of performance to get this feeling, 3 minutes and half was enough in the recent Oscar Awards.

Aunque se dio a conocer por primera vez en la feria AES (Audio Engineering Society) de Barcelona (en el estand de MTG - Music Technology Group-) entre el 28 y el 30 de Mayo de 2005, yo no tuve ocasión de probarlo hasta 2008, durante la 3ª BIACS (Bienal de Arte Contemporáneo) de Sevilla que se celebró entre el 2 de Octubre de 2008 y el 11 de Enero de 2009.
Though it was presented the first time at the AES (Audio Engineering Society) fair in barcelona (at the MTG - Music Technology Group- booth), from May 28th to 30th 2005, I didn't have a chance to test it till 2008, during the 3rd BIACS (Biennal of Contemporary Arts) of Seville witch was hold from October 2nd 2008 till January 11th 2009.

Bumbershoot 2011

El Festival de Arte y Música de Seattle, Bumbershoot 2011 (del 3 al 5 de Septiembre de 2011 en el Seattle Centre), estuvo repleto de música y también de arte. Una de las exposiciones de artes visuales de las que disfrutó el evento fue el "Magic Show", comisariada por Kathy Lindenmayer. Posiblemente inspirada en una exposición exhibida en la galería Plattform (en la plaza Pioneer, Seattle)  en Julio de ese mismo año, llamada "Magicality" donde participaron 14 artistas de Seattle y sus alrededores nacionales, mientras que en el "Magic Show" participaron 6:
Bumbershoot 2011, Seattle Music & Arts Festival (September 3-5 at Seatle Centre), was plenty of music and also of art. One of the visual arts exhibitions that the event offered was the "Magic Show", curated by Kathy Lindenmayer. Likely it picked up on the exjibit shown in Plattform Gallery, (at Pioneer Square, Seattle) in July of that same year, named "Magicality" featuring 14 artist from Seattle and around the nation, whereas there were 6 in the "Magic Show":

'Jasper Maskeline estaba bebiéndose un vaso de cuchillas de afeitar cuando empezó la guerra.': un comienzo prometedor para una fabulosa novela. David Fisher publicó su libro en 1983 (2007 en su edición española)  y desde 2005 se oye en los mentideros que pronto se rodará la película protagonizada por Tom Cruise y dirigida por Peter Weir, aunque a día de hoy ni el actor ni el director están en dicho proyecto.

'Jasper Maskeline was drinking a glass of razor blades when the war started.': a promising beginning to a fabulous novel. David Fisher published his book on 1983 and, since 2005, gossips tell that the movie of the book would be shot soon, starring Tom Cruise  and directing Peter Weir, although up to now neither the actor nor the director are in the project.

El autor describe las proezas militares alcanzadas por el famoso mago británico Jasper Maskeline en el norte de África contra el Africa Korps sin empuñar un arma o ejercer algún tipo de violencia.

The author explains the military deeds achieved by the famous british magician Jasper Maskeline in the north of Afica against the Africa Korps without brandishing a weapon or exercising any kind of violence.

El artista representa una escena cortesana que tiene lugar en el transcurso de una gala palaciega que quiere estar ambientada en el reinado de Carlos IV. Los invitados atienden las evoluciones que ejecuta un ilusionista junto a su ayudante, pudiéndose ver por el suelo varios naipes y otros instrumentos de su oficio.

The artist depicts a court scene which takes place during a palace gala that wants to be set in the reign of Charles IV (of the House of Bourbon). The guests heed the performance of an ilusionist with his assistant; there can be seen on the floor several playing cards and other instruments of his job.

Sumida la escena en la intensa penumbra del interior palaciego, en la que destacan vivamente las figuras, Lucas Villaamil resalta así toda la brillantez de los trajes que lucen los personajes, de vivísimo colorido y lujoso diseño, que acaparan irremediablemente la atención del espectador.

Plunged in the intense semidarkness of the palace interior, in this scene the figures enhance keenly.   Lucas Villaamil brings out all the brilliance of the costumes, of very vivid colour and luxurious design, shown by the characters, which capture compellingly the observer's attention.

El circo alemán Roncalli fue fundado en 1976 por Bernhard Paul y André Heller. Según Bernhard Paul, tomó el nombre del guión de cine de su amigo Austrian Peter Haek "Sarah Roncalli, Tochter des Mondes" ("Sarah Roncalli, hija de la luna", algunas veces citada como "viuda de la luna"). El recuerdo al popular Papa Juan XXIII (1881-1963), cuyo verdadero nombre fue Angelo Giuseppe Roncalli, fue la clave de su éxito.
Circus Roncalli is a German  circus founded in 1976 by Bernhard Paul and André Heller. Acording to Bernhard Paul, the name was inspired by a film script of his fellow Austrian Peter Hajek, "Sarah Roncalli, Tochter des Mondes" ("sarah Roncalli, daughter of the monn", sometimes also cited as "widow of the moon"). The reminiscence tothe popular Pope John XXIII (1881-1963), whose legal name was Angelo Giuseppe Roncalli, served as a key to the success.
