BMW stroke a chord once in 2004, with their "Symetry" spot (where curiosly enogh, no cars appear in it), accompanied by the theme 'Country Waltz' by Angelo Badalamenti, which belongs to the David Lynch's film (1999) 'The straight story' original sound track.

714 esferas de metal, colgadas de finos cables de acero vinculados a motores de paso controlados individualmente cubriendo un área de seis metros cuadrados, animan un relato mecatrónico de siete minutos de duración. Al principio, moviéndose caóticamente, para después evolucionar a varias formas participantes que finalmente se resuelve en el objeto final, la escultura cinética crea una visualización artística del proceso de búsqueda de la forma en diferentes variaciones.
714 metal spheres, hanging from thin steel wires attached to individually-controlled stepper motors and covering the area of six square meters, animate a seven minute long mechatronic narrative. In the begginning, moving chaotically, then evolving to several competing forms that eventually resolve to the finished object, the kinetic sculpture creates an artistic visualisation of the process of form-finding in different variations.
En la Expo de Shangay de 2010 se pudo ver una versión de esta escultura cinética que ideó y fabricó la compañía americana de espectáculos y automatización con sede en las Vegas Fisher Technical Services, Inc. (FTSI).
En este caso se usaron 1008 ejes de movimiento sincronizados con una proyección, luz y sonido coordinado.
During Shangay Expo 2010 you could see a version of this kinetic sculpture which was conceived and made by the american Las Vegas-based entertainment automation company Fisher Technical Services, Inc. (FTSI).
1008 synchronized axis of motion were needed in this case, with coordinated projection, light and sound.
