The first success of this group entailed camouflaging almost 200 tanks to go unnoticed in the desert, and deceive Rommel himself.
To that end, they must paint the tanks light brown for blending them with the desert sand. The funny thing is that they didn't have that paint, by which they was able to manage with a blending of worcester sauce and camel sun-dried dung to get a color that looked like the sand perfectly.

Incluso la silueta que dibujaban en la arena era igual a la de dichos automóviles.
Another trick was the sunshields for tanks. This shield consisted of a light folden structure of wood and painted canvas that, once set up on the tanks, it made them look like trucks. In this manner, when the nazi planes made out the tanks from the sky, they saw a row of harmless trucks travelling the desert. Even their shadows were the same than those vehicles.

He hatched a plan entailing to build a replica of the harbour using mud, canvas and carboard few kilometres from there. He cloned the buildings and set controlled explosives to fake the german targets. And when the Junkers Ju88 from the Luftwaffe released its fearsome bombs, they did it on the wrong place. The nazis had fallen into the trap.
